As of 2026, Netflix has more than 325 million paid memberships. It crossed that milestone in Q4 2025, according to its January 20, 2026 shareholder letter, and says it now serves an audience approaching 1 billion people. Netflix stopped reporting subscriber numbers every quarter in 2025, so 325 million is the latest official count.
Last updated: October 11, 2026. Next update: after Netflix’s Q3 2026 results on October 20, 2026 (October 21, 1:31 AM IST).

Key Netflix Statistics (Editor’s Pick)
- 325 million+ paid memberships, crossed during Q4 2025 [Netflix Q4 2025 shareholder letter, Jan 20, 2026].
- 301.63 million paid memberships at the end of 2024, the last quarterly count Netflix published [Netflix Q4 2024 letter].
- 18.91 million paid net additions in Q4 2024, the most in any quarter Netflix reported [Netflix Q4 2024 letter].
- 250 million+ global monthly active viewers on the ad-supported plan, May 2026 [Netflix Upfront 2026].
- $45.2 billion revenue in 2025, up 16%, with a 29.5% operating margin [Netflix Q4 2025 letter].
- $12.56 billion revenue in Q2 2026, up 13% [Netflix Q2 2026 letter, Jul 16, 2026].
- $51.0 to $51.4 billion revenue forecast for 2026, with ad revenue of about $3 billion [Netflix Q2 2026 letter].
- $1.5 billion+ ad revenue in 2025, more than 2.5x 2024 [Netflix Q4 2025 letter].
- 97 billion+ hours watched in the first half of 2026, up 2% [Netflix Q2 2026 letter].
- $1 to $38 a month: the range of Netflix plan prices worldwide as of June 30, 2026 [Netflix Form 10-Q].
How Many Subscribers Does Netflix Have Right Now?
The official answer is over 325 million paid memberships. Netflix said in its Q4 2025 letter: “we crossed the 325M paid memberships milestone during the quarter.”
There is no newer official number. Starting with its Q1 2025 report, Netflix stopped publishing quarterly paid memberships and said it would only announce major milestones. So any site quoting an exact number like “331.2 million subscribers in Q2 2026” is giving you an estimate, not a Netflix figure.
| Date | Paid memberships | Type | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Q4 2025 | 325 million+ | Milestone (official) | Netflix Q4 2025 letter, Jan 20, 2026 |
| Dec 31, 2024 | 301.63 million | Exact count (official) | Netflix Q4 2024 letter, Jan 21, 2025 |

My take: 325 million is a floor, not a ceiling. Netflix keeps saying revenue growth comes from “membership growth” in every region, so the real number today is very likely higher. But until Netflix publishes it, I won’t print a made-up decimal.
Netflix Subscribers Over the Years
| Year end | Paid memberships | Change | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2019 | 167.09 million | – | Netflix 10-K 2019 |
| 2020 | 203.66 million | +36.57 million | Netflix 10-K 2020 |
| 2021 | 221.84 million | +18.18 million | Netflix 10-K 2021 |
| 2022 | 230.75 million | +8.91 million | Netflix 10-K 2022 |
| 2023 | 260.28 million | +29.53 million | Netflix Q4 2023 letter |
| 2024 | 301.63 million | +41.35 million | Netflix Q4 2024 letter |
| 2025 | 325 million+ | +23 million+ | Netflix Q4 2025 letter |

2024 was Netflix’s best year ever for subscriber growth, with 41 million net additions. The password-sharing crackdown (paid sharing), the cheaper ad plan and big live events like the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight all helped.
Netflix subscribers by quarter (last reported quarters)
| Quarter | Paid memberships | Paid net additions |
|---|---|---|
| Q4 2023 | 260.28 million | 13.12 million |
| Q1 2024 | 269.60 million | 9.33 million |
| Q2 2024 | 277.65 million | 8.05 million |

Netflix Subscribers by Region
The last regional split is from December 31, 2024. EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) has been Netflix’s largest region by members since 2020.
| Region | Paid memberships (Q4 2024) | Share |
|---|---|---|
| EMEA | 101.13 million | 33.5% |
| UCAN (U.S. and Canada) | 89.63 million | 29.7% |
| APAC (Asia-Pacific) | 57.54 million | 19.1% |
| LATAM (Latin America) | 53.33 million | 17.7% |
| Total | 301.63 million | 100% |
Source: Netflix Q4 2024 Shareholder Letter, regional breakdown.

APAC was the fastest-growing region in 2024, from 45.34 million to 57.54 million members, a 27% jump. India is part of APAC, but Netflix does not publish an India-only subscriber count.
Netflix Ad-Supported Plan Statistics
Netflix’s ad plan (called “Standard with ads” in the U.S.) is its fastest-growing product.
| Date | Metric | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Q4 2024 | Share of sign-ups in ads countries choosing the ad plan | 55%+ | Netflix Q4 2024 letter |
| Nov 2025 | Ad-tier global monthly active viewers | 190 million | Netflix, via Variety |
| May 2026 | Ad-tier global monthly active viewers | 250 million+ | Netflix Upfront 2026 |
| 2025 | Ad revenue | $1.5 billion+ (2.5x 2024) | Netflix Q4 2025 letter |
| 2026 (forecast) | Ad revenue | ~$3 billion | Netflix Q2 2026 letter |

Careful with “monthly active viewers”. It is not the number of ad-plan subscribers. Netflix counts members who watched at least one minute of ad-supported content in a month, then multiplies by its estimated average household size. So 250 million viewers could be far fewer paying accounts.
Netflix also said more than 80% of ad-plan members watched actively every week (Upfront 2026).
Netflix Revenue Statistics
| Year | Revenue | Growth | Operating margin | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2021 | $29.70 billion | +19% | 20.9% | Netflix 10-K 2021 |
| 2022 | $31.62 billion | +6.5% | 17.8% | Netflix 10-K 2022 |
| 2023 | $33.72 billion | +6.7% | 20.6% | Netflix 10-K 2023 |
| 2024 | $39.00 billion | +16% | 26.7% | Netflix 10-K 2024 |
| 2025 | $45.18 billion | +16% | 29.5% | Netflix 10-K 2025 |
| 2026 (forecast) | $51.0 to $51.4 billion | +13% to 14% | 31.5% | Netflix Q2 2026 letter |

Netflix quarterly revenue
| Quarter | Revenue | YoY growth | Operating margin | Net income |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Q2 2025 | $11.08 billion | +15.9% | 34.1% | $3.13 billion |
| Q3 2025 | $11.51 billion | +17.2% | 28.2% | $2.55 billion |
| Q4 2025 | $12.05 billion | +17.6% | 24.5% | $2.42 billion |
| Q1 2026 | $12.25 billion | +16.2% | 32.3% | $5.28 billion |
| Q2 2026 | $12.56 billion | +13.4% | 33.4% | $3.40 billion |
| Q3 2026 (forecast) | $12.86 billion | +11.7% | 33.2% | $3.45 billion |
Source: Netflix Q2 2026 Shareholder Letter (Jul 16, 2026).
Why was Q1 2026 net income so high? On February 27, 2026, Warner Bros. Discovery ended its merger agreement with Netflix after accepting a rival offer from Paramount Skydance, and Netflix received a $2.8 billion termination fee (Netflix Form 8-K).
Netflix revenue by region
| Region | Q2 2026 revenue | YoY growth | 2025 full-year revenue |
|---|---|---|---|
| UCAN | $5.43 billion | +10% | $19.96 billion |
| EMEA | $4.03 billion | +14% | $14.52 billion |
| LATAM | $1.58 billion | +21% | $5.36 billion |
| APAC | $1.51 billion | +16% | $5.35 billion |
Source: Netflix Q2 2026 letter (quarterly) and Netflix 2025 10-K (full year).

The U.S. and Canada still bring in 43% of revenue with only about 30% of members. That is because UCAN members pay the most.

Netflix raised U.S. prices in March 2026, its second U.S. increase in under two years. In its Q2 2026 letter Netflix said the first-half price changes in markets like the U.S., Mexico and Spain “have gone well” and matched past increases.
India stays one of the cheapest markets. The ₹149 Mobile plan works out to under $2 a month.
Netflix Viewing and Engagement Statistics
| Period | Hours watched | Change | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| H2 2025 | 96 billion | +2% (+1.5 billion hours) | Netflix Q4 2025 letter |
| H1 2026 | 97 billion+ | +2% | Netflix Q2 2026 letter |
- Non-English titles drove more than a third of all viewing in H1 2026, with standout titles from Korea, Japan, Spain and India.
- KPop Demon Hunters became Netflix’s first title to spend more than 52 consecutive weeks in the Global Top 10.
- Live events are expected to be just over 5% of content spend in 2026 but only about 1% of hours, yet live events accounted for six of the top 10 new member sign-up days in the last five years.
- Video podcasts over-index on daytime and mobile viewing. Netflix added shows like Jay Shetty’s On Purpose in 2026.

Most viewed new Netflix titles in Q2 2026
| Title | Type | Views | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Swapped | Animated film | 137 million | Netflix Q2 2026 letter |
| Apex | Film | 131 million | Netflix Q2 2026 letter |
| I Will Find You (Harlan Coben) | Series | 87 million | Netflix Q2 2026 letter |
| Voicemails for Isabelle | Film | 71 million | Netflix Q2 2026 letter |
| The Crash | Documentary | 67 million | Netflix Q2 2026 letter |
| Office Romance | Film | 63 million | Netflix Q2 2026 letter |
| Teach You a Lesson | K-drama series | 55 million | Netflix Q2 2026 letter |
Netflix defines a view as hours viewed divided by runtime, counted over a title’s first 91 days.
Starting in 2027, Netflix will publish its “What We Watched” engagement report once a year in Q1 instead of twice a year with earnings.
Netflix Profit, Cash Flow and Buybacks
Netflix is one of the most profitable media companies in the world. Here are the cash numbers from its Q2 2026 letter.
| Metric | Q2 2026 | Q2 2025 |
|---|---|---|
| Operating income | $4.19 billion | $3.78 billion |
| Operating margin | 33.4% | 34.1% |
| Net income | $3.40 billion | $3.13 billion |
| Free cash flow | $1.53 billion | $2.27 billion |
| Share buybacks in the quarter | $4.7 billion | n/a |
Source: Netflix Q2 2026 Shareholder Letter.
- Free cash flow fell in Q2 2026 partly because of higher cash tax payments linked to the Warner Bros. termination fee.
- Netflix still expects about $12.5 billion in free cash flow for full-year 2026.
- Q2 2026 was its largest quarter of share repurchases ever, at $4.7 billion. In April the board added a $25 billion buyback authorization, and $27.1 billion of capacity was left at the end of June.
- Netflix ended Q2 2026 with $14.4 billion in gross debt and $9.1 billion in cash.
- Diluted shares fell from 4,349 million in Q2 2025 to 4,261 million in Q2 2026.
Netflix Live, Games and AI Statistics
Netflix is no longer just a library of shows. Three newer bets show up in its Q2 2026 letter:
- Live: Netflix expects live programming to be just over 5% of its 2026 content spend but only about 1% of viewing hours. Even so, live events produced six of the top 10 new-member sign-up days over the last five years, and Netflix only started live events in 2023.
- Games: June 2026 brought Netflix’s two most successful cloud TV game launches, FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition and Unhinged. Its kids app, Netflix Playground, saw daily players grow 3x since its April launch, and kids mobile games engagement rose 600% year over year (from a small base).
- Generative AI: GenAI workflows were used in roughly 300 Netflix titles in 2026, mostly in post-production. Netflix is also using large language models for title discovery and has added voice and natural-language search.
- Local partners: In France, Netflix members now get TF1’s linear channels and TF1+ on-demand content at no extra cost.
Source: Netflix Q2 2026 Shareholder Letter.
My take: live events are a sign-up tool, not a viewing-hours tool. If you run a brand or a show, that is the same lesson. Big live moments bring new people in. The library keeps them.
Netflix Creators, Podcasts and Live: The New Netflix
This is the part marketers and creators should watch. Netflix is pulling in talent from YouTube and podcasting.
- Creators already on Netflix include Ms. Rachel, Danny Go!, Mark Rober and Salish & Jordan Matter. Ms. Rachel spent 27 weeks in the Global Top 10 after her debut.
- Netflix announced collaborations with the Stokes Twins, Alan Chikin Chow, Nick DiGiovanni and Mythical.
- Video podcasts arrived through partnerships including iHeartMedia (Kate and Oliver Hudson, Lele Pons, Martha Stewart).
- Live sports and events in 2026 include the Women’s World Cup, an expanded NFL slate, WWE and MLB events.
Source: Netflix Q2 2026 Shareholder Letter.
My take as a podcast host: if Netflix is licensing video podcasts and YouTube creators, the line between “streaming TV” and “creator content” is gone. Shoot your podcast in video. It is now a TV asset.

Why Netflix Subscriber Numbers Differ Across Sites
| Number you see | What it is | Trust level |
|---|---|---|
| 325 million+ | Official milestone, Q4 2025 | High |
| 301.63 million | Official count, Dec 31, 2024 | High, but old |
| 250 million | Ad-tier monthly active viewers (people, not accounts) | High, but different metric |
| ~1 billion | Netflix’s estimate of total audience (people), not accounts | Medium (company estimate) |
| 330M, 340M and similar exact figures for 2026 | Third-party estimates or projections | Low |
What Netflix’s Numbers Mean for Marketers
- Netflix is now an ad platform. 250 million monthly ad-tier viewers and a $3 billion ad target for 2026. Brands that only buy YouTube and Meta are missing a TV-quality audience.
- Engagement is flat, revenue is not. Hours grew 2%, revenue grew 13%. Netflix is monetizing better, not just growing attention.
- Creators are crossing over. YouTube and podcast creators are landing Netflix deals. Build a library, not just a feed.
- India is a volume market. At ₹149 a month for Mobile, Netflix competes on price there, which is why India matters more for reach than revenue.

FAQs
How many subscribers does Netflix have in 2026?
Netflix has more than 325 million paid memberships. It crossed that milestone in Q4 2025, per its January 20, 2026 shareholder letter. Netflix no longer reports subscribers every quarter, so this is the latest official figure as of October 2026.
Why did Netflix stop reporting subscriber numbers?
Netflix said in 2024 that revenue and operating margin are better measures of its business now that it has ads, paid sharing and multiple price tiers. From Q1 2025 it stopped publishing quarterly paid memberships and only announces major milestones.
How many people use Netflix’s ad-supported plan?
Netflix said in May 2026 that its ad plan reached more than 250 million global monthly active viewers, up from 190 million in November 2025. That counts viewers in households, not paying accounts, so the number of ad-plan subscriptions is lower.
Which country has the most Netflix subscribers?
Netflix does not publish country-level subscriber counts. By region, EMEA had the most members at the end of 2024 (101.13 million), followed by the U.S. and Canada (89.63 million), Asia-Pacific (57.54 million) and Latin America (53.33 million).
How much revenue does Netflix make?
Netflix made $45.2 billion in revenue in 2025, up 16%, with a 29.5% operating margin. In Q2 2026 it reported $12.56 billion, and it forecasts $51.0 to $51.4 billion for full-year 2026, including about $3 billion in ad revenue.
How much does Netflix cost in India?
On October 11, 2026, Netflix India listed four plans: Mobile at ₹149, Basic at ₹199, Standard at ₹499 and Premium at ₹649 per month. Worldwide, Netflix plans ranged from $1 to $38 a month as of June 30, 2026.
When will Netflix report its next results?
Netflix will release Q3 2026 results on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at about 1:01 p.m. Pacific Time, which is 1:31 a.m. IST on October 21. I will update this page with any new subscriber milestone after that release.
Final Take
Netflix in 2026 has over 325 million paying memberships, an audience near 1 billion people and a business that grows revenue 13% a year even though viewing hours grow only 2%. The subscriber count itself is now a milestone metric, so watch revenue, ad revenue and the ad tier’s viewer count instead. The ad tier at 250 million monthly viewers and a $3 billion ad target are the numbers that matter for marketers. I will update this page after the October 20 earnings release.
