As of 2026, about 123 million people play Roblox every day. That is the average number of daily active users (DAUs) Roblox reported for Q2 2026 (April to June), up 10% from a year earlier. They spent 29 billion hours on the platform in that quarter. Both numbers come from Roblox’s own Q2 2026 shareholder letter.
Last updated: October 11, 2026. Next update: after Roblox reports Q3 2026 results on October 29, 2026.

How Many People Play Roblox in 2026?
Roblox does not publish a “total players” number. Its main public metric is daily active users (DAUs). The latest figure is 123 million DAUs on average in Q2 2026.
Here is how Roblox defines a DAU. It is a logged-in account that visited Roblox on a given day. The quarterly number is the average across all days in that quarter. Roblox itself says DAUs are accounts, not unique people. One kid with two accounts counts twice. Bots that slip through can also inflate the count.
So when someone asks “how many people play Roblox,” the honest answer is this: well over 100 million accounts log in every single day, and the real number of humans is somewhat lower than the DAU figure.
| Quarter | Average DAUs | Year-over-year change |
|---|---|---|
| Q2 2024 | 80 million | +21% |
| Q3 2024 | 89 million | +27% |
| Q4 2024 | 85 million | +19% |
| Q1 2025 | 98 million | +26% |
| Q2 2025 | 112 million | +41% |
| Q3 2025 | 152 million | +70% |
| Q4 2025 | 144 million | +69% |
| Q1 2026 | 132 million | +35% |
| Q2 2026 | 123 million | +10% |

Why Roblox’s daily players fell after the 2025 peak
Roblox hit a record in Q3 2025 with about 151.5 million DAUs. That was the summer of viral hits like Grow a Garden. Since then, the daily number has stepped down three quarters in a row: 144 million, 132 million, then 123 million.
Roblox’s own letter points to three reasons:
- Tough comparisons. The 2025 viral games pulled in a huge wave of players. Some of that wave has moved on.
- Russia. Russia blocked Roblox from December 3, 2025 until June 2026. Roblox says this was still a 3 percentage point drag on year-over-year DAU growth in Q2 2026.
- Safety changes. Roblox rolled out mandatory age checks for chat and cut some on-platform communication. That adds friction, especially for younger users.
Even so, Q2 2026 is still 10% above Q2 2025. Roblox also said new sign-ups improved through the quarter and retention of existing users stayed stable. For Q3 2026 it expects a sequential increase in DAUs.
My take: a drop from a viral peak is normal for any platform that rides hit content. What matters is the floor. Roblox’s floor in 2026 is still far above anything it had before mid-2025.
Roblox daily active users by year (Q4 of each year)
Looking at the fourth quarter of each year shows the long-term trend without summer spikes.
| Year | Q4 average DAUs | Change vs prior year |
|---|---|---|
| 2020 | 37.1 million | n/a |
| 2021 | 49.5 million | +33% |
| 2022 | 58.8 million | +19% |
| 2023 | 71.5 million | +22% |
| 2024 | 85.3 million | +19% |
| 2025 | 144.0 million | +69% |
Source: Roblox Q4 shareholder letters and results releases, 2020 to 2025.

In five years, Roblox’s Q4 daily audience nearly quadrupled. Roblox says it added about 60 million DAUs between Q4 2024 and Q4 2025 alone.
Roblox Daily Active Users by Region
Asia-Pacific is now Roblox’s biggest region, with 41 million DAUs in Q2 2026. The US and Canada, once the core market, are now the smallest of the four regions at 22 million.
| Region | Q2 2025 DAUs | Q1 2026 DAUs | Q2 2026 DAUs | YoY change (Q2) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| US and Canada | 21 million | 23 million | 22 million | +6% |
| Europe | 26 million | 28 million | 26 million | +1% |
| Asia-Pacific (APAC) | 36 million | 41 million | 41 million | +15% |
| Rest of world | 30 million | 39 million | 34 million | +15% |
| Total | 112 million | 132 million | 123 million | +10% |

Roblox in India
India is one of Roblox’s fastest-growing markets. In Q2 2026, DAUs in India grew 64% and hours grew 59% year over year. Only Japan grew faster among the countries Roblox named (67% DAU growth). Roblox does not publish an India-only user count.
For context, the US and Canada grew only 6% in DAUs and 1% in hours in the same quarter. The growth story of Roblox is now international, and India is a big part of it.
How Much Time Do People Spend on Roblox?
Users spent 29 billion hours on Roblox in Q2 2026, up 5% year over year. For the full year 2025, the total was 124 billion hours.
| Quarter | Hours engaged | YoY change |
|---|---|---|
| Q2 2024 | 17 billion | +24% |
| Q3 2024 | 21 billion | +29% |
| Q4 2024 | 19 billion | +21% |
| Q1 2025 | 22 billion | +30% |
| Q2 2025 | 27 billion | +58% |
| Q3 2025 | 40 billion | +91% |
| Q4 2025 | 35 billion | +88% |
| Q1 2026 | 31 billion | +43% |
| Q2 2026 | 29 billion | +5% |
Source: Roblox Q2 2026 supplemental materials.

Here is a simple way to read it. 29 billion hours across 123 million average daily users over about 91 days works out to roughly 2.6 hours per DAU per day. That is my own calculation from Roblox’s numbers, not a figure Roblox publishes. It still tells you why brands care: very few apps hold attention like that.
How Old Are Roblox Players?
Roblox changed how it measures age in 2026. It moved from self-reported ages to age-checked data (facial age estimation or ID). By the end of Q2 2026, 57% of global DAUs had completed an age check.
Among users who have age-checked, in the seven days ended June 30, 2026:
| Age group | Share of age-checked users |
|---|---|
| Under 13 | 35% |
| 13 to 17 | 38% |
| 18 and older | 27% |
Source: Roblox Q2 2026 shareholder letter. Roblox notes these figures are not comparable with older self-reported data.
The headline here surprises many parents and marketers: about two out of three age-checked users are 13 or older. In the US, adults (18+) are about one-third of age-checked DAUs.
Adults are also the fastest-growing group in the US:
- US 18+ DAUs grew 32% and their hours grew 27% year over year.
- The 18 to 34 group grew fastest: 42% more DAUs and 37% more hours.
- US adults spend over 50% more per user than US under-18 users.
My take: if you still think of Roblox as a “kids only” game, the data says otherwise. For brands targeting Gen Z, Roblox is now a real channel, not a novelty. I covered why this generation behaves differently online in my Gen Z statistics roundup.

In June 2026, Roblox rolled out Roblox Kids (ages 5 to 8) and Roblox Select (ages 9 to 15) accounts worldwide. Users move to standard accounts at 16. Users who skip the age check will lose access to standard accounts and chat once the rollout is complete.
How Many Monthly Players and Downloads Does Roblox Have?
Monthly active users
Roblox does not report monthly active users in its shareholder letters or SEC filings. You will see figures like “380 million monthly players” online. I could not trace any of them to an official Roblox filing, so I do not treat them as fact.
What Roblox does report monthly is paying users: 27 million average monthly unique payers in Q2 2026 (more on that below).
Downloads
Roblox also does not publish download totals. The best official signal is the Google Play listing, which shows 1 billion+ installs, a 4.2-star rating and 52.9 million reviews (checked October 11, 2026). The App Store, Microsoft Store, Xbox, PlayStation and Meta Quest versions add more on top, but those stores do not show install counts.

Roblox Revenue and Bookings
Roblox made $1.469 billion in revenue in Q2 2026, up 36% year over year. Bookings, which track Robux sales as they happen, were $1.557 billion, up 8%.
Why two numbers? When you buy Robux and spend it on a “durable” item like an avatar outfit, Roblox books the sale today but spreads the revenue over the estimated life of a paying user (27 months in Q2 2026). So bookings show what users spent this quarter. Revenue shows what Roblox can count under accounting rules.
| Quarter | Revenue | Bookings | Bookings YoY |
|---|---|---|---|
| Q2 2024 | $894 million | $955 million | +22% |
| Q3 2024 | $919 million | $1,129 million | +34% |
| Q4 2024 | $988 million | $1,362 million | +21% |
| Q1 2025 | $1,035 million | $1,207 million | +31% |
| Q2 2025 | $1,081 million | $1,438 million | +51% |
| Q3 2025 | $1,360 million | $1,922 million | +70% |
| Q4 2025 | $1,415 million | $2,222 million | +63% |
| Q1 2026 | $1,442 million | $1,731 million | +43% |
| Q2 2026 | $1,469 million | $1,557 million | +8% |

The bookings slowdown
Bookings growth fell from 63% in Q4 2025 to just 8% in Q2 2026. Roblox explained it plainly. Players shifted from the high-spending 2025 viral games to newer and evergreen games that monetize less per hour. Roblox also changed its “Recommended for You” algorithm to favor games people stick with, even if they earn less in the short term. And it turned off cross-experience game pass sales.
For Q3 2026, Roblox guided to revenue up 4% to 10% and bookings down 14% to 18% year over year. That is a big reason the stock has been weak. It does not mean players are leaving, which brings us to the payers.

How Many Roblox Players Pay?
On average, 27 million accounts paid at least once a month in Q2 2026, up 15% year over year. Outside the US and Canada, payers grew 23%.
| Quarter | Avg monthly unique payers | Avg bookings per payer | Avg bookings per DAU |
|---|---|---|---|
| Q2 2024 | 16.5 million | $19.34 | $12.01 |
| Q3 2024 | 19.1 million | $19.70 | $12.70 |
| Q4 2024 | 16.9 million | $23.97 | $15.97 |
| Q1 2025 | 20.2 million | $19.92 | $12.34 |
| Q2 2025 | 23.4 million | $20.48 | $12.86 |
| Q3 2025 | 35.8 million | $17.88 | $12.68 |
| Q4 2025 | 36.7 million | $20.18 | $15.38 |
| Q1 2026 | 30.7 million | $18.78 | $13.12 |
| Q2 2026 | 27.0 million | $19.25 | $12.66 |
Source: Roblox Q2 2026 supplemental materials. “Bookings per payer” and “per DAU” are for the whole quarter.

So roughly 1 in 5 daily users is also a monthly payer, and each payer spends about $19 a quarter on average. That is a healthy free-to-play ratio.
How Much Do Roblox Creators Earn?
This is the part I find most interesting, because Roblox is really a creator economy dressed up as a game.
Creators earned $1,503.1 million in 2025, up from $922.8 million in 2024 and $740.8 million in 2023. These are Developer Exchange (DevEx) payouts, where creators cash out the Robux they earn.
| Creator stat | Value | Source and date |
|---|---|---|
| Creator earnings (DevEx) | $1,503.1 million | 2025, Form 10-K |
| Creator earnings (DevEx) | $922.8 million | 2024, Form 10-K |
| Creators registered in DevEx | 35,500+ (vs 24,500+) | Dec 31, 2025 vs 2024 |
| Creators paid in cash during 2025 | 23,500+ | Form 10-K |
| Creators in DevEx (latest) | 42,000+ | Roblox press release, Sept 2026 |
| Median DevEx creator earnings | About $1,500 | 12 months to June 30, 2026 |
| Average earnings of top 1,000 creators | $1.3 million | 2025, Q4 2025 shareholder letter |
| DevEx fees paid | $363 million (+15%) | Q2 2026 |
| Minimum Robux to cash out | 30,000 earned Robux | Since Jan 31, 2023 |
| US GDP impact of Roblox creators | $752 million (+69%) | 2025, Nordicity report for Roblox |

Look at the gap between the top and the middle. The top 1,000 creators averaged $1.3 million each in 2025. The median DevEx creator made about $1,500 in a year. That is the same “power law” you see on YouTube and TikTok. A few studios win big. Most creators earn side income.
Roblox also raised the DevEx cash-out rate by 8.5% in September 2025, then added a targeted increase in June 2026 for spending by adult US users and for new, original games.

As a marketer, this is where I would focus. If you build games, UGC items or run brand activations on Roblox, you are tapping a payout pool that grew about 63% in one year. If you are a creator weighing platforms, compare this with what I found in my TikTok statistics research: on Roblox, you are paid on what players spend, not on ad views.
What Are the Most Popular Roblox Games?
Roblox’s growth is less dependent on a few mega-hits than before. In Q2 2026, the top 10 games made up about 20% of all hours, down from 30% in the same quarter three years earlier. Games outside the top 10 grew hours by 25% and Robux spend by more than 20% year over year.
Roblox named Animal Hospital, Grow a Garden 2 and Kick a Lucky Block as new games that quickly reached the top charts in Q2 2026.
The biggest single moment came in July 2025, when Grow a Garden hit nearly 22 million concurrent players. Game Developer reported this beat Fortnite’s previous record of about 15.3 million.
| Game stat | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Top 10 games’ share of hours | About 20% (vs 30% three years ago) | Q2 2026 shareholder letter |
| Hours growth outside top 10 | +25% YoY | Q2 2026 shareholder letter |
| Grow a Garden peak concurrent players | Nearly 22 million (July 2025) | Game Developer |
| Global Chat daily messages | 30 million a day (June 2026) | Q2 2026 shareholder letter |
Roblox does not publish all-time visit counts per game in its filings, so I have left out the “billions of visits” tables you see elsewhere.
Is Roblox Shutting Down in 2026?
No. Roblox is not shutting down. It is a public company with $6.1 billion in cash and investments, 123 million daily users and record creator payouts. It reports Q3 2026 results on October 29, 2026.
The rumor comes back every year or two. The big one started on August 18, 2025, when a parody account on X posted that Roblox would shut down on September 1. Roblox replied on August 21, 2025: “Roblox isn’t shutting down. The same hoax goes around every year or two.” A similar hoax spread in 2022.
What is real is that Roblox faces bans in some countries and serious legal pressure over child safety.
Where Roblox is banned or restricted (October 2026)
| Country | Status | What happened |
|---|---|---|
| Russia | Available again | Blocked December 3, 2025; unblocked June 10, 2026 after Roblox agreed to local rules |
| Iraq | Blocked | Ban reinstated from October 3, 2026 after a summer grace period ended |
| Turkey | Blocked | Blocked over child-safety concerns |
| Qatar | Blocked | Blocked over child-safety concerns |
| Indonesia | Restricted for under-16s | Under-16 access blocked from March 28, 2026; Roblox launched Kids and Select accounts there first |
| China | Not available | The global Roblox app is not offered in China |

Lawsuits and investigations
- US states and counties. Louisiana’s attorney general sued Roblox in August 2025, alleging it failed to protect children. Kentucky, Florida, Texas and Los Angeles County have also taken legal action, as have authorities in Australia and the UK, according to PC Gamer.
- US Senate. The Senate Judiciary subcommittee on crime opened an investigation and asked Roblox for documents by the end of August 2026.
- FTC. MLex reported on October 9, 2026 that the Federal Trade Commission is investigating Roblox over child safety, with a conclusion likely before the end of the year.
- Roblox says it filed 65,381 reports of suspected child exploitation with NCMEC in 2025, more than double 2024, and says this reflects better detection.
So could Roblox actually shut down?
My honest view: a full shutdown is very unlikely. The realistic risks are more country blocks, fines and stricter age rules. Those can dent growth, as Russia did. But Roblox is responding with age checks, Roblox Kids and Select accounts, and tighter chat rules. If you are a parent, the useful action is to set up parental controls, not to worry about the game vanishing.
If Roblox ever has an outage, it is just that, an outage. It is not a shutdown.

What These Roblox Numbers Mean for Creators and Marketers
Here is how I read the data:
- The audience is older than you think. Two-thirds of age-checked users are 13+, and US adults are the fastest-growing group. That opens Roblox to brands that are not toy companies.
- Growth has moved east. APAC is the largest region, and India grew 64% in a year. If you market to Indian Gen Z, keep Roblox on your radar alongside Instagram and YouTube. My social media statistics page shows how crowded those other feeds already are.
- Spending is the soft spot. Users are there, but each hour earns less than in 2025. Expect Roblox to push ads, brand deals and adult-focused games to fix this.
- The creator pie keeps growing. $1.5 billion paid out in 2025 is a real economy. Gaming creators already build huge personal brands; see how far that can go in my breakdown of GeorgeNotFound’s net worth and Bugha’s net worth.
Why Roblox numbers differ across websites
You will see different Roblox stats on different sites. The usual reasons:
- DAU vs MAU. Roblox reports daily users. Monthly numbers online are third-party estimates.
- Quarter averages vs peaks. A DAU figure is an average for the quarter. A concurrent-player record is a single moment.
- Accounts vs people. Roblox counts accounts. One person can have several.
- Old age data. Pre-2026 “under 13” splits were self-reported and are not comparable with age-checked data.
- Revenue vs bookings. They measure different things, as explained above.
I only used numbers I could trace to Roblox’s own reports or a named news source.
FAQs About Roblox Players
How many people play Roblox right now?
Roblox averaged 123 million daily active users in Q2 2026, the latest official figure. Roblox does not publish a live player count. Third-party trackers estimate concurrent players, but those are estimates, not Roblox data.
How many people play Roblox every month?
Roblox does not report monthly active users. The monthly figure it does report is paying users: 27 million average monthly unique payers in Q2 2026. Claims like “380 million monthly players” are not in Roblox’s filings.
What was Roblox’s highest number of daily players?
The record so far is Q3 2025, when Roblox averaged about 151.5 million daily active users. That quarter included the Grow a Garden craze, which peaked at nearly 22 million concurrent players in July 2025.
Is Roblox shutting down in 2026?
No. Roblox reported $1.469 billion in Q2 2026 revenue and $6.1 billion in cash and investments. Shutdown posts are a recurring hoax. Roblox is, however, blocked in Iraq, Turkey and Qatar, and restricted for under-16s in Indonesia.
How many Roblox players are under 13?
Among users who completed an age check, 35% were under 13 in the week ended June 30, 2026. Another 38% were 13 to 17 and 27% were 18 or older. About 57% of daily users had age-checked by then.
How many people play Roblox in India?
Roblox does not publish an India user count. It did say India’s daily active users grew 64% and hours grew 59% year over year in Q2 2026, making India one of its fastest-growing markets.
How much money does Roblox make?
Roblox made $4.9 billion in revenue in 2025 and $1.469 billion in Q2 2026. Bookings, which track Robux purchases, were $6.8 billion in 2025 and $1.557 billion in Q2 2026.
How much do Roblox developers earn?
Creators earned $1.5 billion through Developer Exchange in 2025. The top 1,000 averaged $1.3 million each, while the median DevEx creator earned about $1,500 in the 12 months to June 30, 2026.
Final Take: Roblox Is Big, Older and Still Growing
About 123 million accounts play Roblox every day, and they spent 29 billion hours there in Q2 2026. Daily users are down from the 2025 viral peak but still 10% higher than a year ago. The audience is getting older, India and Japan are booming, and creators were paid more than $1.5 billion last year.
Roblox is not shutting down. Its real challenges are country bans, child-safety lawsuits and softer spending per hour. I will update this page after the Q3 2026 results on October 29, 2026.
