Anca Andreica is a TEDx speaker, the author of Affiliate Insider and the woman who built the MaxWeb affiliate network before exiting. In this Inside A Hustler’s Brain episode, the Anca Andreica affiliate marketing story covers an $80 CPA skin offer, $300K weeks, her MaxWeb exit, white hat campaigns and AI rules for 2026.
$300,000 in one week. $1 million in one month. And she says the biggest wins came from clean, white hat campaigns, not shortcuts.
In the latest episode of Inside A Hustler’s Brain, I sat down in Barcelona with Anca Andreica, TEDx speaker, author of Affiliate Insider and one of the most powerful women in affiliate marketing.
Anca built MaxWeb into one of the best-known affiliate networks over about 10 years, then exited and now works with Scalers, an in-house media buying company working with big brands.
She had just come off stage, and she was as generous with honest lessons as ever.
Long-time readers may remember my earlier interview with MaxWeb’s CEO.

Who Is Anca Andreica? Her Journey From MaxWeb to Scalers
Anca has been in affiliate marketing for 11 years. Many people know her from building MaxWeb, which she calls “my baby”. After 10 years she decided it was a good time to exit. It was a hard decision, but she negotiated to make sure the team kept their jobs and the network continued.
After a break, she started working with Scalers in the last year. At this stage of her career she doesn’t have to work, so she chooses projects she enjoys, and she believes in Scalers’ founder, Alex, because he’s honest and wants the industry to be white hat and clean.
“I want to partner with a person first and then the brand.” – Anca Andreica
Scalers isn’t an affiliate network. It has internal media buyers only and works with brands that can afford that level of service, such as Golden Hippo and Gaia. Its traffic is mainly YouTube, CTV and Meta, and her talk that day was about Google.
Her First Win: The $80 CPA Skin Offer and the $300K Week
Anca’s first campaign that made real money was a South Beach Skin offer at about an $80 CPA. Seeing the first sale, then her first $10K, then $50K, was “life-changing”.
Her best week? $300K. Her best month? A million. Her best year? “A lot more.”
But she’s clear that making money is hard. She came from a business background and says reaching her first million was “so hard and so difficult”. She started out making about $100 a week.
Treat Every Campaign Like a Lab Experiment
I asked about her famous line: treat every campaign like a lab experiment, not a lottery ticket. Her example came from a VSL campaign, which she says is very powerful in this industry.
They tested two ad headlines: “Get more sleep” versus “Are you not feeling rested enough?” Optimising that one headline improved the conversion rate by 31%.
Small details matter. Test everything.

Anca Andreica’s AI Rules for Affiliates in 2026
Anca says AI has already reshaped the industry. Her rules:
- Always disclose synthetic video and images in ads, on every traffic source, or you risk bans and serious trouble
- Stop talking about AI and start using it. Keep it open every day and prompt it for what you need
- Have a compliance person check the bots. She has someone full-time reviewing AI output
- Humans first, AI second
She uses AI like a virtual assistant: checking emails, helping her assistant route promotions, creating images and reminding her of posting schedules.
Does she think AI will take jobs? “Absolutely not. It’s a support.” She sees layoffs as temporary and points to new jobs AI creates, like checking AI risks and working closely with AI.

White Hat, Deepfakes and Smelling BS
Her biggest takeaway from the conference: don’t do deepfakes. You might make money short term, but long term nobody will respect you. There are plenty of good white hat offers, and the people making the most money run clean campaigns.
She also says she has a radar for BS. The first red flag? People bragging about how much money they make. What matters is what you’re building.
She chose to become more visible online, including sharing parts of her personal life, even though it was hard as a mum. Her reason: affiliate marketing has a shady reputation, and she wanted people to see a real person who worked hard and genuinely wants to help.
What Is Affiliate Insider?
It is the book Anca Andreica wrote because she saw no content explaining the basics of affiliate marketing. The first chapter covers terms like CPA, so newcomers can understand the industry.

Anca Andreica’s Worst Year, Best Year and Life Advice
Anca’s worst year was 2024, when she went through a very difficult divorce. Her best was 2026, when she met her partner.
“Having the right partner is like a cheat code for being successful.” -Anca Andreica
She says she’s made more money since meeting her partner than in the previous 10 years, because she’s happier and more relaxed. Her biggest financial mistake? Keeping dramatic, negative people on the team. She now has a no-drama policy.
- Best advice: ask questions. It’s not embarrassing not to know. It’s embarrassing not to ask
- Worst advice: “perception is reality”. Smart people see through fakeness
- Morning routine: slow mornings. She checks her phone first because her teams are global. Ignore the 5 a.m. gurus and find what works for your nervous system
- Investing: real estate: land, apartments and houses. Not crypto
- Money and happiness: “No, never.” She knows rich people who are miserable
If she won the lottery, she’d donate most of it to build schools and fight disease. Her tip for a better world: be kind to the waiter, the taxi driver and the person next to you.
Her advice for newcomers: just start. Run one campaign, follow good creators, save up and attend at least one event. I couldn’t agree more. Events changed my life too.
