🤖 From Custom GPTs to AI Agents
Idea Clan compiled five to seven years of winning scripts, hooks, and assets into custom GPTs, “like the best copywriting version of yourself.” It took about a month to learn how to train them well. 🧠
Now they’ve gone further, using APIs and dashboards built with tools like Lovable to “pump out creatives, hundreds and thousands of them, within minutes.” ⚙️
AI also runs internal work:
- ⚖️ Legal: a custom GPT trained on past contract red lines flags issues automatically, and Claude Cowork helps send edits. They went from several lawyers to one.
- 🧾 HR: a 70-page handbook and policies are in a custom GPT, so staff ask it instead of HR. Questions it can’t answer get fed back in.
“My productivity personally is 10 times right now.” Media spend in 2026 is more than twice 2024’s, up about 60% since last year, with the same headcount. 📈
🧑💼 Why Marketers With AI Will Replace Marketers Without It
Performance marketing is “cutthroat.” You’re spending your own money and need CPA under a benchmark. At that scale, someone has to review what AI produces and check that the strategies fed into it are trending. 🎯
The bigger work is finding relevant offers. Business development and relationship building are things AI can’t do, so you still need conferences, masterminds, and affiliate managers. 🤝
What AI can do is automate tasks, like launching ads across 100 accounts. Rohit mentioned Facebook acquiring Manus AI and Claude Cowork integrating with Meta ads. Work once done by virtual assistants is now automated. 🤖

📊 Fab Funnels and AI-Powered Optimization
Around 2018–19, with 30+ media buyers and 100+ ad accounts, Idea Clan built an internal dashboard with just one tech person. Over four to five years it grew to handle account warm-ups, page creation, one rule across 50 accounts, and bulk launches. 🛠️
In 2024 they saw a gap in the market and built Fab Funnels as a separate SaaS product with its own CTO, product lead, and about 25 engineers. It’s built by “marketers who are good in tech.” 💡
- 👀 Visibility: spends and stats from Facebook, TikTok, Google, and more on one dashboard. “What you can’t see, you can’t move.”
- 💬 Talk to your data: ask questions like which campaigns are losing money each hour
- 📏 Rules that act on conditions you set
- 🧠 AI recommendations: the AI watches what top media buyers do and suggests those actions to others in one click
Its affiliate program pays 15% a month for a year, which Rohit says works out to roughly $400–600 per sale. 💵
🗂️ Why Media Buyers Need So Many Ad Accounts
On Meta, “more is always less.” On any given day one account performs and another doesn’t, so each media buyer runs 20, 30, or even 50 accounts. They usually get cheaper clicks and conversions by spreading spend instead of scaling one account. 📊
They have agency accounts directly from Meta, plus direct support on TikTok, Google, and Newsbreak. Through mastermind connections, they also rent accounts from traditional agencies like Dentsu that run ads for big brands. 🔑
🤝 Masterminds, Conferences and Speaking
Masterminds have helped Idea Clan “equally as much as conferences.” Rohit attends two or three private masterminds a year: 20–30 people for a few days in a villa, where everyone shares openly. 🏡
Counting travel, the value would be close to half a million dollars a year, though card points cover a lot of it. 💳
Speaking brings inbound leads. After his first talk at Affiliate Summit Budapest, 50 people lined up at the Fab Funnels booth. Their biggest current advertiser came to them after seeing his speech, and his media features even helped him get a higher Amex credit limit. 🎤

📜 From Newton007.com to Idea Clan
Rohit met his partner Sahil in college in 2008 (roll numbers 46 and 49). One day, after skipping class and sitting on the college roof, they decided they had to do more with their lives. 🏔️
Seniors in the IT club taught them how to make money with Google AdSense. Their first domain, Newton007.com, was rejected by AdSense seven times before it was approved, and their first $100 check came in late 2009. 💌
In 2012 they built viral Facebook apps, until organic reach died. Then 2013–14 was “a big failure year” doing client IT work on Elance and oDesk. In 2014 they went to AdTech in Delhi and got into affiliate marketing through pop-up ads. 🔄
At Affiliate Summit in Vegas in 2015, a client spent $30,000 in one night on their group of six: “the first crazy mind-opening place.” 🎰

📈 Bulk Ads, AI Avatars and Fraud Protection
After Facebook’s Andromeda update, “it’s all about the quantity of ads now.” Platforms want ads tailored to different demographics so they can match each ad to the right person. “Can you compete with somebody launching 500 ads a day? You can never compete.” 🚀
Idea Clan has used AI avatars for over a year. UGC actor spend dropped from $20–30K a month to under $5K, with 70–80% of creatives now AI, using tools like Arcads, HeyGen, Creatify, and ElevenLabs. 🎭
For their jewellery brand, 50 influencer videos drove little traffic directly, but they turned each one into 20 pieces, about 1,000 ads in total, and some made good ROI on Meta. 💍
For bot traffic, they rely on Cloudflare bot detection on all sites and Anura for critical offers. 🛡️
🧭 Leadership, Diversification and Money Lessons
With 250+ people, Rohit takes leadership development personally. Three years ago they hired the Vanto Group, who see a company as a network of conversations. Each month, a form and leaderboard surface any “incompletions” (unresolved issues, gossip, politics) to be cleared. 🧹
They pay well and share profits. Some media buyers earn five to ten times their salary, and one is getting a BMW this year. 🚗
From his dad, he learned risk mitigation. Viral apps, an influencer network, and content arbitrage all died over time, so they diversify. But do it one at a time: build a leader for 1–1.5 years, stabilize, then move on. The biggest myth is that media buying is easy. Many people burn money copying YouTube tips. 🧱
Personal answers:
- ⏪ One person to bring back: himself from 10 years ago, to tell him to take more risks
- 📵 Last 24 hours: throw away his phone and spend time with family
- 💰 Can money buy happiness? “Money amplifies whatever personality you have.”
- 🚘 Last wish: to see his team members driving BMWs and Audis
- 🙏 Proudest moment: a forklift worker in Canada who left his job after watching Rohit’s videos thanked him at Affiliate Summit West
- 🏢 Biggest purchase: half an acre in Mohali’s IT park for an eight-floor office
- 🦄 Goal: a unicorn, a billion-dollar company
His best money advice: when money first comes in, don’t buy cars. Invest in your business, then build stable assets like real estate, stocks, and startups. Luxury comes after. 💡
