🧭 From Translator to Marketing Manager

Katrina is from New Jersey, about an hour from New York City. Her mother is Hungarian, which led her to university in Budapest, where she studied political science. 🇺🇸🇭🇺

In college, she worked as a Hungarian-to-English translator, which turned into content writing. She joined Voluum about three years earlier as a content writer for the blog and emails, and became marketing manager. ✍️

“Things sometimes just work out the way they do.” She ended up in a city and industry she never expected, and she’s happy. Her first job was as a hostess at Friendly’s, a US diner chain. 🍦

🛠️ What Sets Voluum Apart

Katrina says Voluum has been on the market since 2014, is extremely reliable, and has a big team behind it. Its differentiators:

  • 🤖 Auto-optimization and rule-based paths
  • 🧪 Automatic A/B testing for flows
  • 🛡️ Anti-fraud kits
  • 🔌 Automizer for API integrations with traffic sources
  • 🙋 Strong customer support

I’ve worked with Voluum as an affiliate and met their team at Affiliate World Bangkok, Dubai and Malta. They’re friendly and well organized. 🤝

🤖 Automation and AI

Voluum always talks about automation: media buyers can’t do everything manually at scale, so automation helps them beat the competition. 🤖

That week, her team had met about integrating ChatGPT into daily work. She’s not afraid of it taking jobs. “It can really speed things up.” ⚡

📱 The Downside of Social Media

Since joining Voluum and hosting webinars, Katrina has become more active on social media, testing what people like on her personal accounts too. 📱

The downside: whenever you do something interesting, you’re also thinking about how to make it look cool online and making sure you record it at the right time. 📸

💬 Regrets and Advice to Her Younger Self

  • 🪙 Regret: not investing in crypto 10 years ago, though she doesn’t believe in get-rich-quick schemes
  • 🎓 Worst advice: rushing straight into university. She took a gap year, rare in the US, and would have waited longer to find her passion and save money
  • 🏆 Best compliment: her manager calling her dependable and a great public speaker
  • 🌍 Better world: be happy where you are, value where you’re from, and contribute to your community

Her advice to her younger self: live in the moment and try new things, because you’ll forget the embarrassment in a few days. 🚀

I shared mine too: be more confident and don’t fear others’ opinions. I used to stammer and was shy face to face, but I kept trying. For more on mindset, read my own affiliate journey. 🔗
