Google Storage Plans in India 2026: Google One Prices and Free Offers

Google storage plans in India, the short answer: Every Google account gets 15 GB free. After that, Google One starts at ₹59 a month for 30 GB (Lite), ₹130 a month for 100 GB (Basic) and ₹210 a month for 200 GB (Standard). The AI plans start at ₹399 a month for Google AI Plus with 400 GB, and Google AI Pro costs ₹1,950 a month with 5 TB. These are the prices Google shows on its official India page.

Your phone says “Storage almost full”. Gmail stops receiving mail. Photos stops backing up. Sooner or later, every Android user in India hits this wall.

The fix is simple: buy more Google storage, or clean up and claim one of the free offers. In this guide, I break down every Google One plan in India, the real monthly and yearly cost in rupees, which plan I think gives the best value, and the legit ways to get Google storage for free.

What Is Google One?

Google One official homepage in India, the subscription behind all Google storage plans

Google One is Google’s paid subscription for extra cloud storage. A Google One subscription in India works the same way as anywhere else, just with rupee pricing. It is not a separate app you need for storage. It simply raises the storage limit of your Google account.

That storage is shared across three services:

  • Gmail (your emails and attachments)
  • Google Drive (files, PDFs, Docs, Sheets and videos)
  • Google Photos (your photo and video backups)

So when people search for “Google Drive price” or “Google Drive storage pricing in India”, they are really looking for a Google One plan. Google does not sell Drive storage on its own anymore.

Higher plans now also bundle Google AI. That means more access to Gemini, Gemini inside Gmail and Docs, and extras like YouTube Premium Lite on the Pro plan. Today the AI tiers are called Google AI Plus, Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra.

A few things stand out:

  • There is no 1 TB or 2 TB storage-only plan in India right now. Storage jumps from 200 GB to 400 GB (AI Plus) and then to 5 TB (AI Pro).
  • Lite does not support family sharing. Google’s comparison table marks sharing as available from Basic upward.
  • Yearly billing is only shown for Lite, Basic and AI Pro on the annual tab of the plans page.

Free Plan: 15 GB

Google One free 15 GB storage tier shown on the official plans page

Every Google account gets 15 GB at no cost. This is the “Google free storage” everyone starts with, and it is shared across Gmail, Drive and Photos. For a light user who mostly sends emails and keeps a few PDFs, 15 GB can last years. For anyone who backs up phone photos, it usually fills up within months.

Lite Plan: 30 GB for ₹59 a Month

Google One Lite 30 GB plan at ₹59 per month on the official Google One page

Lite doubles your free space to 30 GB for ₹59 a month, or ₹589 a year according to Google’s annual plan tab. It is the cheapest Google One subscription in India. It suits students and people who only need a small buffer for Gmail and documents. You cannot share it with family.

Basic Plan: 100 GB for ₹130 a Month

Google One Basic 100 GB plan at ₹130 per month on the official page

The Google One 100GB price in India is ₹130 a month or ₹1,300 a year for the Basic plan. This is the plan I recommend for most people. 100 GB is enough for a few years of phone photos at normal quality plus all your documents, and you can share it with up to five family members.

Standard Plan: 200 GB for ₹210 a Month

Google One Standard 200 GB plan at ₹210 per month on the Google storage plans section

The Google One 200GB price is ₹210 a month on the Standard plan. It is listed in the “Google storage plans” section of Google’s India overview page. If you shoot a lot of 4K video on your phone, or you share storage with a big family, this is the step up from Basic.

Google AI Plus: 400 GB for ₹399 a Month

Google AI Plus plan at ₹399 per month with 400 GB storage on Google One India

Google AI Plus costs ₹399 a month and includes 400 GB of storage. Google’s comparison table lists the storage as “400 GB or 2 TB”, so the amount can differ depending on the offer you sign up through. On top of storage, you get roughly twice the Gemini access of a free account, Gemini help inside Gmail and more access to image and video tools, as per Google’s AI plans page.

Google AI Pro: 5 TB for ₹1,950 a Month

Google AI Pro plan at ₹1,950 per month with 5 TB storage on Google One India

The Google AI Pro price in India is ₹1,950 a month or ₹19,500 a year. It now includes 5 TB of storage. Earlier this plan came with 2 TB, and Indian tech news sites reported the jump to 5 TB at the same price. You also get about four times the Gemini access, Gemini in Docs and Sheets, Google Flow and YouTube Premium Lite, as listed on the Google One plans page.

If you already use Gemini daily, this plan can replace two or three separate subscriptions. If you only want storage, it is overkill.

Google AI Ultra: 20 TB and 30 TB Plans

Google AI Ultra plan starting at ₹6,500 per month with 20 TB storage

Google AI Ultra starts at ₹6,500 a month (Ultra 5x, 20 TB) and goes up to ₹19,500 a month (Ultra 20x, 30 TB), based on Google’s comparison table for India. It is built for heavy AI users, developers and creators. It also includes a YouTube Premium individual plan. For storage alone, nobody needs this.

Google AI Plans Compared With Storage-Only Plans

Google One comparison table in India showing storage, family sharing and Gemini limits for every plan

The comparison table on Google’s India page makes one thing clear: Lite, Basic and Standard are pure storage plans. They have no extra Gemini limits. The AI plans add storage plus higher Gemini access.

Google AI plans in India: Google AI Plus, Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra cards on the official site

Here is how I would decide:

  • You only need space for photos and Gmail: pick Basic (100 GB) or Standard (200 GB).
  • You use Gemini a lot and need 400 GB or less: AI Plus at ₹399 is the cheapest way into Google AI.
  • You need more than 400 GB: AI Pro is the only real option, because there is no 1 TB or 2 TB storage-only plan in India right now.

If you are still exploring AI tools, read my list of the best free AI apps first. Many people pay for AI Pro and then barely use Gemini.

Google Drive Storage Pricing (India): Monthly vs Annual

Google One annual plans in India: Lite at ₹589 a year, Basic at ₹1,300 a year and AI Pro at ₹19,500 a year

Google’s plans page says you can “save up to 16%” with annual billing. Here is the math for the three plans that have a yearly option:

Plan 12 x monthly Yearly price You save
Lite 30 GB ₹708 ₹589 ₹119
Basic 100 GB ₹1,560 ₹1,300 ₹260
Google AI Pro 5 TB ₹23,400 ₹19,500 ₹3,900

Savings figures are shown by Google on the annual tab of its plans page.

Google’s help center also says that in India you can pay quarterly for the 30 GB, 100 GB and 200 GB plans, and for AI Plus and AI Pro. That is an India-only option, and it is handy if you do not want to lock in a full year.

My take: if you know you will need the space for a year, pay yearly. Storage needs only grow. I have never seen anyone downgrade from 100 GB because they had too much space.

Is Google One Free? How to Get Free Google Storage in India

Google One itself is not free. You get 15 GB free with every account, and anything above that is paid. But there are legit ways to get Google One free for a period. Here is every Google One subscription offer and membership offer listed on official pages for India. Think of them as a free membership for a limited time, not a forever deal.

1. Free Google AI Plus for College Students

Gemini subscriptions page in India with the student offer for a free Google AI Plus plan

Google is offering college students one year of Google AI Plus at no cost. The Gemini subscriptions page for India shows the banner “Students: Get a Plus plan at no cost for one year”, and Google’s India announcement says the offer must be redeemed by December 31, 2026. After the free year, the plan renews at the regular price unless you cancel.

Google’s help page for student offers also lists India among the countries eligible for the Google AI Pro plus YouTube Premium student bundle, at a student discount, for up to four years.

Who is eligible (per Google’s help center):

  • You must be a student at a higher education institution.
  • You must verify your student status through SheerID using a valid school email.
  • You need a personal Google account and a payment method added at sign-up.
  • Family group members and people with third-party memberships may not qualify.

How to claim the student offer:

  1. Open one.google.com/ai-student on your phone or laptop.
  2. Pick the student offer you want.
  3. Verify your student status through SheerID when asked. Use your college email ID.
  4. Add a payment method and finish the subscription flow.
  5. Set a reminder to cancel or renew before the free year ends.

For the AI Pro student bundle, Google says you need to reverify with SheerID, usually every 12 months.

2. Google AI Pro Free for 18 Months With Jio

Jio Google Gemini offer page showing the Google AI Pro plan worth ₹35,100 free for 18 months

Jio is giving eligible users 18 months of Google AI Pro at no cost. Jio’s offer page values it at ₹35,100 and says it includes 5 TB of storage. You need to be 18 or older and on an unlimited 5G plan of ₹349 or more. You claim it once per number from the banner in the MyJio app. Jio’s terms say the offer window runs until October 29, 2026, unless Jio extends it.

This is the biggest free Google storage deal in India right now. If you are on Jio 5G, claim it.

3. Airtel’s Google One Offer

Airtel's official press release announcing 100 GB of Google One storage free for 6 months for postpaid and Wi-Fi customers

In May 2025, Airtel announced that its postpaid and Wi-Fi customers get 100 GB of Google One storage free for 6 months through the Airtel Thanks app, after which it costs ₹125 a month, as per Airtel’s press release. Check the Airtel Thanks app to see if it is still available on your connection.

Google One Coupon, Discount Code and Promo Code

You will find many sites promising a “Google One coupon”, a “Google storage discount code” or a “Google storage promo code”. Be careful. Google does not run public coupon codes for Google One in India. Real discounts come from only four places:

  • Annual billing (up to 16% off, per Google).
  • Student offers verified through SheerID.
  • Telecom bundles like Jio and Airtel.
  • Promotional trials shown inside your Google One app or Play Store account.

If a website asks you to enter your Google password to “unlock” a Google storage code, close it. That is phishing.

Google Cloud Storage Pricing (India) vs Google One: Not the Same Thing

People often search for “Google Cloud storage pricing in India” when they mean Google One. These are two different products. So if a site lists “Google cloud plans” with per-GB rates, it is talking about Google Cloud, not your Gmail and Drive storage.

  • Google One is for personal storage in Gmail, Drive and Photos. Flat monthly price in rupees.
  • Google Cloud Storage is part of Google Cloud Platform. It is for developers and businesses who store data for apps and websites. It is billed per GB per month based on usage, region and storage class.

If you just want more space for your phone backups, you need Google One, not Google Cloud.

Benefits of Google One

Storage is the main reason to buy, but you also get:

  • Family sharing with up to five people on Basic and above, while each person’s files stay private.
  • Device backup of photos, videos and contacts, so you can restore everything on a new phone.
  • Storage manager to find large files and other items you can delete.
  • Google AI benefits on AI Plus, AI Pro and Ultra, such as more Gemini access.
  • YouTube Premium Lite on AI Pro, and YouTube Premium on Ultra, where available.

What Happens If You Run Out of Google Storage?

If you see a “Google Drive storage full” warning, act fast. According to Google’s help center, once you go over your limit:

  • You cannot send or receive emails in Gmail.
  • New files will not upload or sync in Google Drive.
  • Google Photos stops backing up your photos and videos.

Your existing files stay safe. You just cannot add new ones until you free up space or upgrade.

How to Buy or Change a Google One Plan

  1. Open one.google.com or the Google One app.
  2. Go to “Plans and pricing” or tap “Upgrade”.
  3. Choose monthly or annual billing.
  4. Pick your plan and pay with your saved payment method.

Google’s help center says a new plan can take up to 24 hours to show up. If you downgrade, the change applies at the start of your next billing cycle. If you cancel, you go back to 15 GB of free storage.

How to Free Up Google Storage Before You Pay

Before you pay, spend 15 minutes cleaning up. It often buys you months.

  • Delete large Gmail attachments. Search Gmail for “has:attachment larger:10M” and remove old ones.
  • Empty Drive trash and Gmail spam. Both count toward your limit.
  • Use the storage manager in the Google One app to find large files and items you can delete.
  • Move old videos to a hard disk. Videos eat more space than anything else. If you edit videos, keep the raw files offline and store only final exports. My guide on free online video editors covers tools that export smaller files.

Which Google Storage Plan Should You Buy?

Here is my honest recommendation:

Your situation Best plan
Student, mostly Gmail and notes Free 15 GB, or claim the student AI Plus offer
Single user with a few years of photos Basic 100 GB, yearly (₹1,300)
Family of 3 to 6 sharing storage Standard 200 GB or Basic 100 GB
Heavy Gemini user Google AI Plus (₹399) or AI Pro (₹1,950)
Jio 5G user Claim AI Pro free for 18 months
Creator with many 4K videos Google AI Pro 5 TB

For most people, Basic at ₹1,300 a year is the sweet spot. It is about ₹108 a month, it can be shared with family, and it removes the “storage full” headache for a long time.

Conclusion

Google storage plans in India are cheap compared to losing your photos or emails. Start with the free 15 GB. When it fills up, Basic 100 GB at ₹130 a month or ₹1,300 a year is the best value for most people. Pick Standard 200 GB if you share with family, and only move to AI Plus or AI Pro if you will actually use Gemini.

And before you pay, check the free routes: the student AI Plus offer, Jio’s 18-month AI Pro deal and Airtel’s Google One offer. If you want more tools that save you money, browse my AI tools section.
