🇺🇦 From Freelancing in Ukraine to Facebook Ads

Alex is from Ukraine. He started on freelancing platforms, applying for SEO jobs and teaching himself as he went. 🇺🇦

He settled on Facebook advertising for ecommerce because that’s where the demand and clients were. His key lesson: focus on one core competence, because the longer you stay in an industry, the better you get. 🎯

📉 The First Six Months of Dropshipping

He started dropshipping in 2016. Like most people, the first six months weren’t profitable: he lost around $5,000–7,000 each month before it gained traction. 📉

2017 was “unbelievable” and 2018 was good, partly because Facebook was softer on categories like skincare and beauty back then. Today he focuses on sustainable, compliant products. For another ecommerce story, read Alex Micol’s ecom secrets. 🔗

🚫 Fighting Facebook Ad Account Bans

Most shutdowns, Alex says, come from automation triggers. If you know you’re advertising compliant products, appeal, appeal and appeal again. 🚫

While waiting three or four days for a reply, write again in the same ticket with a different template, for example explaining your holiday ad spend plans. The goal is to get a human to look at it. “If you know you’re right, just fight for it.” For more Facebook ads tactics, read Depesh Mandalia’s interview. 🔗

📧 Email and Video Creatives

Besides Facebook, they run basic Google campaigns and were starting with YouTube. They email customers about once a day, positioned as daily deals, so the audience keeps opening. 📧

For video, typical dropshipping ads with emojis still work, but ads that don’t look like dropshipping work better. Custom videos for $100–200 per product are a key investment: one good creative can generate thousands or tens of thousands in profit. 🎬

🔍 How Newbies Should Start

Use a spy tool to find what’s already selling, then sell those products, since there’s proof of concept. 🔍

But invest in learning new angles and better ads. Copy-pasting the same creatives may work briefly, but Facebook recognizes reused creatives, gives lower-quality traffic and may shut accounts down. Alex also runs a mentorship for experienced store owners. For another Facebook ads expert, read Tim Burd’s interview. 🔗
