👟 From Retail Manager to Ecommerce
Until 2007, Kunal was an area sales manager at Woodland shoes and apparel. He wanted his own business but didn’t have deep pockets for retail. 👟
Online, anyone can be an entrepreneur without big investment. He started affiliate marketing in late 2007, and six months later launched an ecommerce site selling handbags and shoes in the US, since he felt India wasn’t ready for ecommerce in 2008. 🛒
🚫 Why His US Store Shut Down
The store ran for about two and a half years on dropshipping, with no inventory. As orders grew, US authorities tracked shipments coming from one place without approval, and he had to shut it down in 2010. 🚫
From September 2010 he shifted to affiliate marketing in India, as brands like Snapdeal were taking off. For more on the Indian affiliate market, read vCommission CEO Parul Bhargava. 🔗
💡 How DSIM Was Born
Around Diwali 2010, Kunal foresaw the need for an organized place where professionals, business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs could learn internet marketing. That became DSIM. 💡
He says he doesn’t think about competition and rarely visits competitors’ sites. Instead, set your goals and vision, and focus on where you want to be in three years. 🎯
🏫 From One Center to Fifteen
In July 2016, Kunal said DSIM had grown from a single Delhi center in September 2015 to opening its 15th center, in Hyderabad, with centers across Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Kolkata and more. 🏫
They had run live online training for two years, but younger students were reluctant, since parents usually make the decision. So DSIM wanted a presence across India. For another Indian training founder, read Pradeep Chopra of Digital Vidya. 🔗
🛠️ How DSIM’s Training Works
Kunal describes DSIM as a bunch of digital marketers passionate about marketing. Trainers include entrepreneurs and ex-Googlers who teach what they actually do. 🛠️
It’s practical, not theoretical: trainers build a website and implement SEO, social media, Facebook ads, landing pages, lead generation and mobile optimization on it. When Kunal tests a new SEO method and it works, he adds it to the program. 📈
❤️ Brand Over Short-Term Money
Kunal liked my SchemaNinja and shared my view: build long-term products, not short-term gains. “Nothing is short-term in life.” ❤️
He still earned from affiliate marketing, but DSIM’s vision is to become a very big brand among digital marketing institutes. What makes him smile is people saying DSIM is great. For more on long-term thinking, read Kulwant Nagi’s success mantra. 🔗

Dear Sir
I found your ads for DSIM are very attractive and impressive. No one can be skipped from its magic. Sir you are efforts are Great and skills are wonderful. So full marks to you marketing strategy and Digital marketing skill in this regard Sir, DSIM is best.
Sir I am a trainee of your PRESTIGOUS and REPUTED institute, Preet Vihar branch (6:00pm to 9:00pm batch started on 8 march.
Sir I am sharing is my experience of last two months. According to me the things projected are at high level whereas delivery is at very basic level. No module ever achieved an advance or expert level, master level is too far.
I start from Word press module, Elementor which is prime tool now a day for WordPress designing, not even introduced.
Adwords play a very big role in digital marketing. And expertise in this tool is a dream of a digital marketer. In google Adwords very few bid strategies are told and many options are not even touched and Practically we are unable to handle any campaign. What is the use of studying in DSIM if we are not able to handle any responsibility in field?
Email marketing is an emerging tool which is discussed in theory only.
In Social media marketing only Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin are introduced.
Youtube is very effective tool for earning money and marketing. Channel creating is I child job. But creating a video and promoting it, is a tough job in this competitive industry. It should be given more weight.
SEO is big a issue, last two days classes are not going on because me and many of the batch mates are unsatisfied with seo .
There is a lot to be discussed. There should be a provision made by management towards conducting a live sessions of various modules, which will include running Ad-word, understanding Google analytics and running SEO, over the website for live sessions. Whatever study Besides above In the absence of above live demo classes it is really becoming impossible to understand .
Material is being sent over mail, it is nothing but just a compilation of content from net, which anyone can search. There has to be standard modules in the either soft or hard copy for reference.
No tools are provided till now, what is the importance of tools if not needed now? (which are costing around 63000 INR as per the prospectus).
The demo provided was very impressive. Infact I am finding a huge gap between the promise made in the various DSIM communication at various platforms vs the actual delivery in the class room or at online tutorial.
Sir, there is a lot of material available on internet, what is the objective of joining DSIM if no current practical strategy are not taught.
Now I am in dilemma what should I do. My money is going in vain.
Hoping for an appropriate solution.
Yours sincerely
Krishna kumar
