🏭 Born Inside an Ad Agency

Madgicx grew out of an ad agency managing about $500,000 a month in spend. To scale, Yahav realized they needed technology that would eventually replace them, doing the manual, tedious work of a media buyer. 🏭

The team had grown to 16 or 17 people across three offices. The company is registered in Israel, and Yahav had lived in Vienna for six years. Early on, they gave the tool to friends and agency owners for feedback. Once it was ready, Facebook ads became their main acquisition channel, run with Madgicx itself. 🎨 The Creative Insights Feature

Their latest feature, creative insights, solves a big problem: with dynamic creative and multiple post IDs, you can’t easily see how much you spend on each creative at the account level. 🎨

It shows those insights and gives you tools to launch better ads in a few clicks. Marketers use Madgicx to create campaigns and audiences, manage budgets, run automation and scale winners through testing, budget increases and permutations. Next up were a mobile app and custom automation rules. For more on testing, read Oliver Kenyon’s landing page tips. 🔗

⚙️ Seven Automation Tactics

Madgicx’s seven automation tactics covered about 90% of cases and work together, and with you: if you turn something off, the software won’t turn it back on. ⚙️

They include stop-losses on bad days, budget surfing on good days, a revive tactic for delayed attribution, and a unique sunsetting tactic that tracks spend on an ad set without a purchase. Spend $15 with no sale, and it cuts the budget 20%. Spend another $50 with nothing, and it turns the ad set off, just like a media buyer would. 🚗 Toward an Autonomous Media Buyer

Yahav said Madgicx already saved advertisers about 90% of their time, and he aimed for a fully autonomous media buying machine, like Tesla’s self-driving cars. Plug it into a Shopify store and it acts as a commerce machine. 🚗

Others offered enterprise or niche solutions. Madgicx positioned itself as an affordable all-in-one platform. Users included thousands of advertisers and brands like Foot Locker Germany and Snipes.

🏆 Results and Focus

Madgicx was managing about $70 million a month in Facebook ad spend, with a mission to reach $1 billion a month. One affiliate spending $40K to make about $50K (1.2 ROAS) reached 2.36 ROAS on the same spend. “It’s not a course, it’s not a guru. It’s technology that actually works.” 🏆

On work-life balance, he was honest: he was entirely focused on building the product. He liked seeing an international conference happen in Israel, where he’s originally from. For another adtech view, read Adsterra’s Daria on digital advertising. 🔗
