🇮🇳 Payoneer’s India Plans

Hilik leads Payoneer’s affiliate channel and its refer-a-friend engine. Its India push was only four or five months old, so the focus was making the brand familiar to the right audience. 🇮🇳

The plan: run lots of events to educate people about what they need and how Payoneer helps, then open an office, starting in Delhi, with a strong local business development hire. For Payoneer’s founder on India, read Yuval Tal’s interview. 🔗

🤝 Working With Indian Networks

Payoneer was taking first steps with vCommission and looking at DGM. 🤝

The first step was infrastructure: giving affiliates the right incentives, transparency, reporting and tracking. Then came performance marketing, starting in India and copying the approach to other markets. For vCommission’s side, read CEO Parul Bhargava’s interview. 🔗

💰 How the Affiliate Program Pays

Hilik doesn’t think India is very different from other markets. It’s booming, and people see affiliate marketing as extra or even main income. 💰

📣 Roadshows, PPC and Word of Mouth

Payoneer planned four November roadshows in Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai. With little market experience yet, the main job was explaining how Payoneer helps freelancers get paid. Then word of mouth, social media, affiliates and refer-a-friend would combine. 📣

A PPC team targets relevant keywords on Google. The summit went far beyond expectations, with more than a thousand people and a very busy floor. More events would follow. 🎉
