🌍 Who Payoneer Is Built For
Payoneer grew with the rise of marketplaces. For about ten years, it focused on helping people worldwide get paid for work through marketplaces: developers in Ukraine, Amazon sellers in China, QA testers, website builders and people on Fiverr or Upwork. 🌍
India took longer, because there was a process to go through, but it was now established, so Indian freelancers could work for companies abroad and get paid by card or by marketplaces. 💼
⚖️ How It Differs From Wires and PayPal
Payoneer serves freelancers and small businesses receiving payments from outside India. Yuval says that internet-age niche rarely has a dedicated solution. ⚖️
You could use wires or PayPal, but those are parts of other solutions. Payoneer does exactly this, and handles the complexity of the internet world. For more on Payoneer, read COO Keren Levy’s interview. 🔗
🇮🇳 Why India Is Front and Center
Yuval called India “front and center”. Payoneer would develop whatever technology the RBI or banks require to be fully compliant and meet Indian needs. 🇮🇳
His reasons: a huge country with English speakers, smart people, an entrepreneurial culture, many small businesses, and global acceptance of outsourcing to India. He invited feedback on features freelancers need. For more on Payoneer for freelancers, read Hilik Goldin’s interview. 🔗
💸 Small International Payments Made Simple
For affiliate networks and anyone paying internationally, small amounts of a few hundred or few thousand dollars are tricky. 💸
Payoneer can do it cheaply and seamlessly into India: “You think you work in India, and you start to work globally without even knowing it.” For an Indian affiliate network’s view, read vCommission CEO Parul Bhargava. 🔗
💬 Listening to Critics
If someone blogs that Payoneer is expensive or that they hate it, Payoneer responds and asks how to help, whether it’s a feature or just frustration. Yuval sees that genuine communication as their real social marketing. 💬
Events let people share experiences. “We hope it’s the best service. If it’s not, then use someone else.” It was his first day in India, and vindaloo is his favorite dish. 🍛
